for everyone
2007 has been one of the better years, as years go.

I became a Grandmother, (well step grandmother anyway, which is grandmother enough for now).  I took part in a 10 mile sponsored walk and discovered a love of walking that I hope will stay with me forever.  That newly found love of walking has led to me seeing more of the countryside surrounding me than I have ever seen before, and it is beautiful.  That newly found love of the countryside has increased my love of photography, to the point where I can't imagine ever going anywhere without a camera again.  That increased love of photography has led to me taking myself off for days out, to places like Wells and Glastonbury, and looking at them from new angles.  I had a wonderful Summer, people will remember 2007 as the Summer of rain and floods, but I seemed to escape that in my corner of deepest, darkest, Somerset, and I will remember some great days out, enjoying blazing sunshine, I was more tanned than I have been for years.  I enjoyed a wonderful trip to London in October, packing an incredible amount into 2 nights/3 days, the highlight, literally, being my climb to the top of St Paul's.  That weekend finished with a trip to the Theatre, in the West End, to see my daughter dance, possibly the proudest Mummy moment of the year.

Now that Christmas is over, (and it has been a pleasant time, simple celebrations, very family orientated), it's time to look forward.  The first big event of 2008 will be the show in February, (I've been working hard for that since October, and have plenty more work awaiting me).  I've got a few weekends away planned, the first one being in April when I go to Portsmouth for a few days.  I will be saving hard for most of the year, but it will all be worth it when I get off a plane in Crete in October.

2007 is not a year I am in a hurry to say goodbye to, but 2008 has the prospect of being an equally good year; may it be a great one for all of you and bring you all that you wish for.

Happy New Year.
